At Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, ministry takes many forms—caring for one another, growing as disciples, and serving our neighbors near and far. With Christ at the center, there are meaningful ways for all ages to live out their faith in our congregation, our community, and the world.
This committee (Education) nurtures faith formation across all ages at Mount Calvary. We support Sunday School and other educational programs by recruiting and equipping teachers, selecting ELCA-approved materials, and reviewing our programs regularly. We also encourage faith practices at home and help lift up potential leaders for ministry and church vocations. The Youth Committee guides this congregation's ministry to the youth of the church.
This committee is responsible for planning for and conducting opportunities for fellowship and recreation for this congregation, including the homecoming celebration, the annual meeting and events involving participation with other churches or groups.
The property committee is responsible for the proper maintenance and protection of all property of this congregation, including the care, cleaning and upkeep of all buildings, properties, and grounds. The cemetery committee is responsible for the oversight and maintenance of the cemetery of this congregation.
This committee supports the congregation’s ministry of compassion and connection. Working closely with the pastor, we extend care to those in need—visiting the homebound, sending cards, and offering spiritual support. We also pay attention to local social concerns and seek faithful ways to respond as a church. This ministry invites all members to take part in sharing Christ’s love with those in need, both within and beyond our congregation.
This committee helps guide the long-term vision and mission of Mount Calvary. By regularly reviewing the needs of both our congregation and the wider community, we work with other committees to shape goals and strategies that keep our ministry faithful, focused, and forward-looking.
This committee helps ensure that worship at Mount Calvary is faithful, welcoming, and meaningful. We support the flow of worship by coordinating volunteers such as ushers, acolytes, readers, and communion assistants, and we care for worship materials, music, and the sanctuary space. From preparing the altar to supporting our choirs, this team serves behind the scenes to keep worship running smoothly and beautifully.
